Are you a passionate and experienced chef who wants to bring nutritious meals and a warm dining experience to young people who need it most? We are seeking a School Chef to join our dedicated team at an alternative provision school in Burnley, supporting students with a range of additional needs and challenges.

This is more than just a catering role - it's a chance to contribute to a nurturing environment that helps young people feel valued, supported, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals for students and staff, taking into account dietary needs and preferences.

  • Manage stock, ordering, and budgeting efficiently.

  • Ensure the kitchen meets all food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

  • Create a welcoming atmosphere in the dining area and build positive relationships with students.

  • Lead and support any kitchen assistants or volunteers.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a school, care, or similar setting.

  • A good understanding of nutritional needs of young people, including allergens and dietary requirements.

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (minimum).

  • A calm, friendly, and resilient approach - our students thrive with consistency and kindness.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
