Mechanical Design Engineer
LRL are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer, to work on a long term contract, for an expanding Engineering company based in the North West. Our client specialise in the relocation, installation and maintenance of a wide range of machinery.
You will be based from Burnley, however there will be occasional visits to UK customer sites to carry out design surveys and measurements.
In return, they are offering a competitive hourly rate.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Produce general arrangement and final draft drawings using 2D & 3D AutoCAD packages.
- Creating designs across companies' wide portfolio of products, including conveyor systems and bespoke material handling systems
- Updating and maintaining Bill of Materials and project documentation
- Assisting technical sales team with development of quotation drawings and tenders
- Attend internal and external meetings (project and client related) including travelling to customer sites when required to provide technical support and design calculation expertise
- Design initial concepts including input into costing and timescales reviews
- Adhere to client specifications whilst complying with current safe working practises and company standards
Skills and Experience
- Degree/HND or similar qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing or Product Design
- Demonstrate design experience with AutoCAD
- Experience designing bespoke material handling systems such as conveyors and palletisers
- Experience carrying out design layouts estimations and surveys on customer sites
- Proactive and determined approach to problem solving

- Hours: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 39 Hours Per Week (8:00am - 5pm & 8:00am - 12pm on Friday)
