We’re ready to welcome a highly motivated Team Leader to foster high morale, safety, empowerment, and operational excellence at our Disley Tissue Mill.

This role is hands-on, therefore you will be heavily involved in production while leading by example and supporting your colleagues.

Please be mindful that within the operational part our tissue mills, you may encounter some humidity, puddles on the ground from water residue, and a scent from waste-water extraction. We minimise this as much as reasonably possible, however this is a common theme within a tissue mill setting, and we remain fully committed to our ‘Zero Harm by Choice’ guiding principle.

About the Role

As our hands-on Team Leader, you will operate our tissue machines, optimising our sustainable papermaking process and our effluent treatment process, ensuring environmental compliance. This includes monitoring equipment and maintaining high housekeeping standards.

To ensure we are producing top quality, you will regularly conduct quality tests, reporting any defects and relying on your talented team to help you rectify them.

Safety comes first, therefore you will drive safety audits, carry out toolbox talks, and ensure all colleagues understand their role by leading operational meetings and clarifying targets.

It's essential that our colleagues feel empowered, therefore fostering great morale, as well as multi-skill development and training, should be naturally embedded within this role.

The shift pattern Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm, and Friday, 8am to 4pm. In this role you will be expected to cover shift absences for the shift team leaders (2 days 6am-6pm and 2 nights 6pm-6am). We are a 24/7 production facility.

You will start off at the lower rate of pay during the training period and after 6 months and completion of the training plan and ability to run the paper machines you will progress to the higher rate advertised.

  • Confirmation that you are comfortable working in the conditions advertised
  • A positive and approachable character with the ability to take accountability and ownership for your area.
  • Superb communicator with empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Leadership coupled with critical thinking skills and an inquisitive mindset.
