About the Role
We are seeking an experienced School Administrator to join our friendly and supportive primary school office team in Burton-on-Trent. This is a key role requiring excellent organisation, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy school environment.
The ideal candidate will have previous UK primary school administrative experience and be fully confident using school MIS systems, with strong knowledge of daily school operations.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the school's main reception and acting as the first point of contact for parents, pupils, staff, and visitors
Maintaining accurate pupil records, attendance data, and safeguarding logs
Using school systems such as SIMS, Arbor, ScholarPack, Bromcom, CPOMS, ParentMail (or similar)
Supporting admissions, leavers, and pupil transition processes
Producing reports, letters, and documentation as required
Managing emails, calls, postal duties, and general office administration
Handling finance-related tasks such as purchase orders, invoices, and petty cash (training can be provided)
Ensuring compliance with GDPR, safeguarding procedures, and school policies
Providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team
Essential Requirements
Proven experience working in a UK primary school office
Strong working knowledge of at least one UK school MIS system (SIMS, Arbor, ScholarPack, Bromcom etc.)
Confident using CPOMS or other safeguarding software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A positive, professional, and friendly attitude
Desirable Skills
Experience supporting school finance processes
Knowledge of local authority procedures
First Aid qualification (or willingness to train)
