Outline of Role:The primary goal of the internal sales representative is to develop both existing and new business. While the business operates as an online web shop, the team aims to cultivate a loyal, long-term trade customer base.

The role involves handling inquiries, queries, and customer service for both existing and new customers. The customer base is diverse, including end-users, tradespeople, builders, and installers.

Main Duties:

  • Handling incoming calls and converting them into sales.
  • Preparing quotations and managing projects through to the order stage.
  • Focusing on developing existing customers and generating new leads.
  • Identifying new opportunities and contacting potential new customers.
  • Actively building and maintaining relationships with customers.
  • Reviewing plans and specifications, consulting with customers to ensure they purchase the correct products for their needs.
  • Handling technical queries as required.
  • Attending meetings online or in person if necessary.
  • Reviewing competitors and providing feedback to management.
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Dealing with issues such as returns or delivery problems.
  • Assisting with and generating inquiries through social media platforms.

Skills Required:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Proficient use of a PC for internal and external communication.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Energetic personality.
  • Experience within the trade is preferred but not essential.

Systems Knowledge:

  • CRM system to maintain accurate customer records and organize workflow.
  • Microsoft Office package, including Outlook for email and Excel for data recording, which are critical tools for this role.

Bonus Scheme:A commission scheme is in place for this role, based on specific targets given to the successful candidate. This scheme is uncapped.
