Our client, a well-established and respected local building company, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join theirgrowing team in Bury St Edmunds.

About the Role

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring theirprojects run smoothly by sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment at the best possible value. You will work closely with our project managers and site teams, building strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring timely deliveries to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the procurement of building materials and supplies for multiple projects

  • Negotiating prices, contracts, and terms with suppliers

  • Maintaining accurate records of orders, deliveries, and stock levels

  • Monitoring supplier performance and resolving any delivery or quality issues

  • Supporting the wider team with cost control and budget management

About You

  • Previous experience in a Buyer or Procurement role, ideally within the construction industry

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail

  • Confident working with Microsoft Office and procurement systems

  • A proactive team player with the ability to build lasting supplier relationships
