The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, SEND staff, and other support colleagues to provide tailored assistance that promotes pupil engagement, progress, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with additional needs, including SEND and/or EAL.
Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting behaviour management.
Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning atmosphere for all pupils.
Support with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and visual displays.
Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and emotional well-being.
Contribute to observations, assessments, and feedback where appropriate.
Requirements:
Experience supporting children with additional needs, ideally in a primary school setting.
A passion for helping pupils achieve their full potential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential).
