Head of Procurement required to join a progressive not for profit organisation based in the North West. My client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Professional who can help shape procurement and insurance practices for a long term interim role.
As the Head of Procurement you will work with a supportive and collaborative leadership team and be responsible for driving efficient and effective procurement practices and overseeing the organisation's insurance strategy and activity. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing robust procurement strategies, ensuring value for money, compliance with regulations and driving best practices across the organisation. You will oversee the team responsible for the insurance portfolio, optimising coverage and mitigating risk to protect the organisation and its assets alongside other duties below:
Key responsibilities of the Head of Procurement:
- Deliver a comprehensive procurement strategy to maximise efficiency, costs and quality.
- Lead the procurement function, ensuring all procurement legislation is accurate and being met.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process including contract management.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance on complex procurement issues.
- Engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver optimal procurement solutions.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable contractual terms, pricing and service levels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, collaborating to identify opportunities for joint procurement initiatives and cost savings.
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes, identifying opportunities to enhance procurement and insurance practices.
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team of procurement and insurance professionals.
Required skills and experience of the Head of Procurement:
- Experience in strategic procurement and contract management within a complex public sector environment.
- Proven experience of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies, delivering cost savings and driving efficiencies.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement legislation, regulations and best practices.
- Understanding of insurance principles, risk management and claims handling processes.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
