MRD Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting an Management Accountant based in Stirling, on behalf of our Engineering and Manufacturing client. Our client is a market leader in their respective field, and this role has been newly created following spectacular growth.
The Management Accountant, based in Stirling, will support the Financial Controller in managing daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Lead monthly management accounts preparation, post complex journals, and manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Reconciliations & Compliance: Perform balance sheet reconciliations, oversee VAT returns, and support audit readiness with robust documentation.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist in budgeting and re-forecasting processes, track actuals vs. budget, and provide analysis on financial performance.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with operational managers, provide financial insights, investigate variances, and support commercial reviews.
- Process & Systems Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency's in reporting and month-end processes, and support data integrity and Power BI reporting.
- Controls & Governance: Ensure strong financial controls, contribute to process documentation, and support group consolidation and inter-company reconciliations.
Knowledge, Skills & Experiences
- Qualified Accountant: ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, with 2-3 year's post-qualification experience in management accounting.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting processes.
- Management Accounting: Proven experience in producing management accounts and conducting variance analysis.
- Business Partnering: Comfortable working with operational teams to provide financial insight and support.
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills essential for analysis and reporting tasks.
- Finance Systems: Experience with platforms like Sage, Access, or Xero is desirable.
