AR777 – Lifting Equipment Engineer

Location: Camberley 

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + Vehicle & Overtime

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Lifting Equipment Inspector / Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

The successful candidate will carry out thorough examinations, inspections, servicing, and maintenance of cranes and other lifting equipment across a varied customer base. This is a field-based role, and applicants should have experience in inspecting or maintaining lifting appliances and accessories.

Our client welcomes applications from ex-military personnel, but all suitably qualified candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct LOLER inspections on cranes, hoists, and a wide range of lifting equipment at customer sites.
  • Service, maintain, and carry out repairs where necessary to ensure equipment remains safe and compliant.
  • Provide clear, detailed reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Work independently in the field, liaising with the office team as required.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while working in a variety of industrial and commercial environments.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in servicing, maintaining, or inspecting cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment.
  • Understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work safely and accurately.
  • Professional approach when dealing with clients on site.
