Financial Accountant | Cambridge, UK | £50,000 - £60,000

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join an internationally listed company, to be a part of a European accounting team responsible for supporting a group of legal entities in meeting their statutory compliance obligations. The focus is on preparing and reviewing financial statements under local GAAP, managing statutory audits, supporting tax compliance, and contributing to ESG reporting and regional finance projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Statutory Compliance: Prepare or oversee preparation of local GAAP financial statements and manage statutory audits and filings.
  • Month-End Review: Review and sign off on monthly accounts prepared under US GAAP.
  • Tax Support: Assist with local VAT, corporate tax compliance, and reporting in collaboration with tax teams.
  • Audit & Ledger Management: Maintain statutory ledgers and perform reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Contribute to ESG reporting, M&A projects, new entity setups, and provide financial guidance to local stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong academic and professional experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing financial statements and managing audit processes.
  • Exposure to working in an outsourced or shared service model.
  • Comfortable coordinating with remote teams and external stakeholders.
