Job Description

Join an exceptional team at the forefront of virtual and augmented reality innovation. This role is pivotal in connecting people, allowing them to feel together despite being physically apart, and enabling conversation in challenging listening environments.


Responsibilities

  • Collect high-quality multimedia data, with a focus on audio and video, in bespoke audio recording facilities.
  • Set up, test, and adjust recording equipment for optimal data capture during data collection sessions.
  • Process collected data using standard multimedia tools, scripts, and command line tools to ensure integrity and consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external volunteers during data collection activities to gather diverse and high-quality data.

Essential Skills

  • Solid understanding of multimedia equipment setup and recording, with experience in sound engineering or AV technician roles.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data collection.
  • Interest in sound and audio, demonstrated through activities like playing a musical instrument or music production.
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with large spreadsheets or databases, such as Excel.
  • Programming or scripting experience, particularly in Python.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command line usage.
  • Familiarity with visual positioning/motion capture systems.
  • Masters Degree in a relevant subject.
