Cambridgeshire County Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

OT wanted to work across Cambridgeshire within our Prevention and Early Intervention services. The aim of the service is to identify, prevent, reduce and delay the need for both short- and long-term care and support. We play a crucial role in preventing admissions, promoting single handed care through specialist assessment and equipment provision, signposting, problem solving, facilitating discharges, and acting as a link between health and social care.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.

  • Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment
  • Undertaking assessments for equipment and social care support needs.
  • Providing expert advice, and assessments for equipment and home modifications
  • Recommending adaptations
  • Following assessment provide/recommend specialist services to disabled people which remove barriers to social inclusion.
  • Assess people's equipment, adaptations, and housing needs.
  • Moving and handling assessments.
  • An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of \n the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Previous experience working with major adaptations.
  • Manual handling experience
  • HCPC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification
