- FMV have an urgent requirement to resource its supply chain sufficiently. There are 900 budgeted hours that have not been factored into the workload of the existing team and are yet to be utilised. Carl Forey approved the submission of a direct role to support after a stakeholder meeting including Diane Kendal, Christopher Barrett, Matthew Kerry, Phil Meacham and Samuel Rutter. New requirements for outsourcing projects and the ramp up in existing project purchasing has increased demand beyond maintainable levels of output for a buyer. The existing team consists of 4 buyers who are expected to achieve 220 PO lines per month. Since January the output has been 1385/March, 1981 PO lines/Feb, 1560 lines/Jan against a KPI of 880/month. The existing schedule requires 4 units (2 variants) to be built this year (BNS & NUS), comprising of circa 1500 purchased parts each (BOM not yet fixed). While some componentry will be shared, this will require a significant amount of master data management in IFS (purchase parts, supplier for purchase part data). Added to this there is extensive supplier engagement and PR => order processing which requires >6 months of direct labour for first of types alone, merging and complimenting requirements for production starting December. The incumbent team are unable to support the project medium/long term. Onboarding a new buyer at this stage will allow for a suitable onboarding/training pathway, 6-8 weeks, with existing team support to help it through first of type builds and data improvements.
