We are working with a growing business who are looking to add a dedicated Finance Assistant to their finance team. This role is crucial for supporting and enhancing the financial functions of this rapidly expanding business. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller to maintain efficient finance and administration systems.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Handle Purchase Ledger and PO System processing, including resolution of associated queries.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash across multiple accounts and currencies.
  • Manage bi-monthly payment runs and secure necessary approvals within the business.
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Assist in expanding accurate project reporting processes.
  • Manage expense reclaims.
  • Undertake ad-hoc financial office management tasks.
  • Contribute to team efforts by addressing emerging needs and providing constructive solutions to problems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous accounting experience with the ability to manage a busy bookkeeping and accounting role.
  • Partial AAT qualifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in Purchase Ledger and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience with standard accounting packages (Xero desirable).
  • High levels of confidentiality, numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to use own initiative.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a team player mentality.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills; excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
