Survey Technician - (Field Based -East Midlands / East Anglia)
Location: East of England (Cambs, Peterborough, Norwich, Norfolk, Tilbury, Melton Mowbray)
Rate: £20-£25 p/h | Contract | Full-Time
We're hiring a Survey Technician to support major ground investigation and environmental survey work, including projects linked to the £9bn National Grid upgrade. Ideal for hands-on individuals who enjoy outdoor work, travel, and developing strong technical survey skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assist senior surveyors on a range of surveys (utilities, GI, geophysics, topographical).
Set up and operate GPR, CAT/Genny, GPS, total stations and related equipment.
Collect accurate field data and support environmental/waste investigations.
Maintain clear records and contribute to basic reports.
Work outdoors in all weather and travel nationwide (accommodation/expenses covered).
About You
2+ years' experience in surveying, GI, utilities, geophysics, environmental work or similar.
Qualification in Surveying, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography or related.
Practical, physically capable and happy working outdoors.
Strong attention to detail and a positive, team-focused attitude.
Desirable
CSCS card, First Aid, full UK driving licence.
Experience in civils, utilities, consultancy, or infrastructure projects.
