PV Design Engineer

RCM are recruiting for a PV Design Engineer - Immediately Required.

RCM Ltd are partnered with a privately owned contractor located within the West Midlands. RCM are recruiting for a PV Design Engineer to take a lead role in designing efficient, cost-effective solar PV systems for both commercial and domestic projects.

In this role you will be responsible for producing high-quality, compliant designs that meet industry standards. You will manage projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring optimal performance, technical accuracy, and client satisfaction throughout.

As a PV Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Design solar PV systems using AutoCAD or other design software
• Assess requirements, site conditions and technical constraints to create effective system layouts
• Perform energy calculations, shading analysis, and panel placement optimisation
• Prepare technical drawings, electrical schematics, and system diagrams
• Liaise with the installation team to ensure design feasibility and alignment with installation capabilities
• Update and maintain accurate project records
• Liaise with the Engineers, Project Managers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget

As a PV Design Engineer, you will be required to have the following

• Experience working on domestic and commercial projects
• Proven experience in solar panel systems design or similar
• Disciplined in AutoCAD or similar systems
• Wealth of knowledge and understanding of electrical systems
• Good communication
