We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Canterbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leadership role on large-scale schemes, providing strategic commercial oversight and contributing to the successful delivery of iconic projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the commercial management of large, high-value construction projects from inception through to completion.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, and final accounts.
- Preparing and analysing cost forecasts, budgets, and financial reports.
- Implementing change management processes, variations, and cost control measures.
- Collaborating closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
- Supporting risk mitigation and value engineering initiatives.
- Mentoring and guiding junior QS team members to uphold high standards of practice and performance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Tier 1 main contractor environment.
- Proven success managing large, complex projects across various sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and contractual management skills.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related field.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach and a commitment to excellence.
