Academics in Canterbury are working closely with primary schools in East Kent who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious Graduate Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who is eager to gain their first teaching experience and begin their journey toward Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Key Responsibilities for a Graduate Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2 under the guidance of experienced teachers
- Support the academic and personal development of all pupils, adapting teaching to meet a range of needs
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and confidence
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver creative learning experiences
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback and contributing to ongoing planning
- Support the wider school community through participation in school events, clubs, and activities
What We're Looking For in a Graduate Teacher:
- A recent graduate with a Degree/Masters, ideally in Education or a related subject
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in teaching and developing classroom practice
- Previous experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, youth work) is desirable
- A proactive, reflective, and resilient approach to learning and teaching
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Right to work in the UK
