Science Teacher – Canterbury Area – January 2026 Start

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school located just outside of Canterbury. This is a full-time temporary position starting in January 2026, running until February half term, with the potential to extend until Easter.

About the Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across all three science disciplines – Biology, Chemistry, and Physics – to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role includes full teaching responsibilities such as:

  • Planning and delivering lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Marking and assessing student work
  • Attending parents’ evenings and departmental meetings
  • Supporting students’ academic progress and wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching all three science specialisms at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
