About the Role
This is a practical, hands-on role supporting building improvements across a large healthcare estate in Cardiff. You will work on small to medium building and refurbishment projects, update drawings, help prepare designs, and support the team to make sure work is delivered safely, on time, and to the right standards. The role includes a mix of office work and time on site.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Understanding and interpreting AutoCAD drawings.
  • Supporting day-to-day project tasks alongside the design and estates teams.
  • Keeping drawings and building information updated and organised.
  • Ensuring designs and works follow required standards and guidance.
  • Working with mechanical, electrical, IT, telecoms, and fire colleagues.
  • Providing information needed for CDM and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Carrying out basic building surveys and condition checks.
  • Supporting cost checks, paperwork, and coordination with contractors.
  • Assisting with planning for small works and general project support.
  • Helping with emergency or contingency planning when needed.


Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or equivalent experience in an estates or construction-related discipline.
  • Significant practical experience in commercial estates or construction environments, ideally in the public sector.
  • Proven track record of delivering small works projects.
  • Experience managing projects from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with NEC and JCT forms of contract.


Key Skills

  • Ability to interpret and understand design drawings.
  • Working knowledge of building regulations and standards.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including design and document systems.
  • Confident chairing and controlling meetings when required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with different teams.
