We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operations of our special school facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient environment for both staff and students. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties including security, maintenance, and health and safety compliance.
Day-to-day of the role:- Oversee and manage the security of the premises, operating and responding to alarm systems to ensure the safety of all occupants.
- Conduct minor repairs and general maintenance to keep the school facilities in good working condition.
- Handle cleaning duties, ensuring all areas of the school are hygienic and well-maintained.
- Collect, assemble, and dispose of waste responsibly, adhering to environmental and health guidelines.
- Assist in the maintenance of the school’s swimming pool, ensuring it is safe and clean for use.
- Perform basic record-keeping tasks for supplies like soap and hand towels, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Manage the stores list effectively, keeping track of inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide health and safety training and ensure compliance with all current legislation.
- Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Competence in performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a busy environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competitive hourly rate of £14.40.
- Stable working hours from Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm.
