About the Role:This newly created Business Development Manager role reflects a strong commitment to expanding the Energy Services team and broadening its client base across both internal divisions and external markets. The role is central to driving new business, managing onboarding processes, and ensuring a seamless transition from acquisition to service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Proactively identify and coordinate the development of new business opportunities across the UK.
- Lead client engagement activities including meetings, pitches, and proposal submissions.
- Write compelling proposals tailored to client needs and aligned with the company’s energy service offering.
- Represent the team at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build strategic partnerships and alliances.
Client Onboarding & Transition
- Initiate and support the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth handover to the Operations and Client Management teams.
- Ensure all account details are accurately set up in internal systems, supplier contracts are in place, and billing/data flows are established.
- Act as the point of escalation for any onboarding issues, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination
- Work closely with the Cardiff-based Energy team to align resources with new business demands.
- Collaborate with Onboarding and Client Management teams to ensure service delivery is efficient, timely, and scalable.
- Ensure the energy service model is future-proofed and adaptable to evolving technologies in energy generation, delivery, and monitoring.
Reporting & CRM Management
- Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate records of business development activities and client interactions.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations summarising progress, pipeline status, and outcomes for internal stakeholders.
- Proven experience in business development, preferably within the energy, utilities, or property services sectors.
- Strong understanding of client acquisition, proposal writing, and onboarding processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
