Walker and Sloan are proud to be working with a fully integrated marketing agency, as they are keen to bring on board a Client Strategy Lead to the team on a full time basis.

This is a full-time position requiring 2 days per week in the office (London, Brighton or Cardiff). They would however explore fully remote as long as you would be ok with travelling to clients on the odd occasion.

About this job

You will act as the centre of excellence for strategic direction and innovation across the Welsh Government clientportfolio. The role works across Visit Wales, Trade & Invest Wales, Business Wales, Cymru Wales and Creative Wales, toprovide senior strategic oversight and direction on all digital programs of work spanning Content, SEO, Paid Social, Paid Search, Programmatic, Data & Analytics's, and Audience Intelligence.

You’ll work closely with the Program Lead and channel specialists, supporting all BAU and campaign programmes fromstrategic planning through to performance measurement and ongoing client and brand problem solving and solutionbuilding and selling.

As well as strategically leading the Welsh Government accounts, you’ll occasionally craft case studies, award entries, and may have the opportunity to support with new business opportunities for the agency brand.As an expert communicator with a keen eye for detail and compelling strategy storytelling, you’ll be able to simplify thecomplex and galvanise both clients and internal teams.

What you’ll do

  • Lead strategic direction: Across all key Welsh Government accounts, you’ll take responsibility for crafting the approach for integrated annual and campaign strategies, and work in partnership with channel leads to flesh these out, whilst maintaining the overarching strategic narrative.
  • Identify strategic opportunities: You will attend regular meetings with clients and be the key point of contact and thought leadership for all continued strategic problem solving and opportunity spotting. You’ll work with channel leads and client solutions teams to drive new business and new solution development off the back of opportunities identified.
  • Drive solution innovation: You will lead on designing and developing multi-discipline strategic solutions for channel specialists to input into, spotting the opportunity through client relationships, and owning the design of the solution narrative and briefing this into the channel teams for specialist input. Leading on continued account innovation and best in class strategies.
  • Client relationships: You’ll build and maintain strong and trusting client relationships with key client stakeholders and day-to-day client contacts, visiting Wales when required for larger client meetings (once a quarter).
  • You will be an ambassador of the agency and its values
  • You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time

  • Proven experience in leading and developing best-in-class, annual multi-channel, digital programmes, as well as integrated campaign strategies
