Essential Skills Trainer

Hoop PS&HR are proud to be working closely with a forward thinking and employee focused organisation who are currently looking for an Essential Skills Trainer to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. This position is based in Cardiff and comes with a salary of up to £27,000.

We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to support learners in achieving their Essential Skills qualifications in Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Literacy. In this rewarding role, you'll play a vital part in training and assessing learners, guiding them through their educational journey with encouragement and expertise.

You'll have the opportunity to make a real difference by planning and delivering engaging learning sessions, assessing progress, and supporting tasks that help learners build confidence and succeed. Responsibilities:

  • Supporting learners with their literacy, numeracy, and digital skills in both group sessions and one to one.
  • Helping learners complete their Essential Skills qualifications, alongside building their confidence and abilities.
  • Organising and supporting controlled tasks, ensuring everything runs smoothly and meets the right standards.
  • Visiting and registering learners and keeping track of their progress with accurate, up-to-date documents.
  • Creating helpful and engaging learning materials that support the learners progress.
  • Building strong relationships with both learners and employers, being that reliable, positive presence throughout their learning journey.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and learner progress is properly documented.

Requirements:

  • Assessor qualification (TAQA or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
  • City & Guilds 9300 Level 2 Supporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills (Desirable)
  • Level 3 Essential Skills Practitioner Certificate (Desirable)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding.
  • Experience working and delivering work-based learning training sessions.
  • Great organisation, communication and people skills.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Passionate about learning and helping others grow, a real team player mindset.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
