Yolk Recruitment is actively working with a world leading manufacturer based on the outskirts of Cardiff who are going through a period of exponential growth, with large investment planned for 2025/2026 they are seeking to employ an Engineering Planner to join their already established team.

With a longstanding presence globally, this role provides the chance to work with advanced automation and robotic systems, supporting efficient and reliable operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you'll be doing as an Engineering Planner

Maintain and manage the engineering stores, ensuring stock levels are accurate, organised, and well-documented.

  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities in coordination with the engineering team to minimise downtime.
  • Support the creation and management of the PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) schedule.
  • Order, receive, inspect, and issue parts and materials as required for planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, and trigger reordering to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Keep accurate records of stock movement, maintenance schedules, and completed work.
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement activities related to stores and planning.

The experience you'll bring to the team:

  • Previous experience in an engineering stores, planning, or maintenance coordination role, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Confident using CMMS or inventory/maintenance management systems ideally with experience of SAP.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise across teams and with external suppliers.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices within an engineering or stores environment.
