Support Worker for Young People

Brook Street are recruiting for a Support Worker with prior experience and full UK driving licence (essential) for our client based in South Wales.

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in assisting young people, helping them develop independence and navigate the transition into adulthood. You'll take a holistic approach to empower them towards independent living. Your support will be instrumental in helping them build the skills and confidence needed to thrive as independent young adults.

ESSENTIALS:

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A minimum of 1-year previous experience
  • A FULL UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Level 3 qualification in children and young people - Desirable
  • Be flexible in your working approach and hours

Responsibilities:

Act as a positive role model for the young people

Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support to young people

Assisting in identifying and accessing educational or employment opportunities

Helping young people sustain and manage their tenancies

Supporting participation in workshops focused on life skills such as budgeting, cleaning, cooking, and paying bills, all aimed at fostering independence

Assisting young people in connecting with appropriate external support services

Encouraging and promoting healthy, positive relationships

Involving young people in social and community-based activities

Ensuring timely and accurate completion of all necessary documentation

Serving as a positive and consistent role model

Develop and maintain good working relationships

Be confident in yourself to challenge behaviour when requires

Maintain high standards of report writing and other paperwork where required

Attend meetings and training

Shifts: Scheduled 2 weeks in advance - 8hrs/ 10hrs/ 12hrs and Nights.
