Field-Based Test & Calibration Technician
Location: Carlisle / Covering Scotland
Salary: 28,500 + Van + Bonus + OT + 25 Days Holiday + Benefits

Are you looking to kick-start your technical career with a company that offers long-term progression and real job stability? This is a great opportunity to join a growing international manufacturer of medical-grade scales and diagnostic equipment. From everyday GP surgery models to advanced wheelchair-accessible and body composition devices, their products play a vital role in healthcare settings across the UK.

They're now seeking a Field-Based Test & Calibration Technician to join their UK-wide service team.

The Role:
This is a field-based position where you'll be visiting healthcare sites including GP surgeries, hospitals, care homes, and dialysis clinics. You'll be responsible for testing and calibrating a range of medical scales and ensuring they're performing accurately and safely.

While the immediate focus is on testing and calibration, there is clear progression available in the future. Over time, you could move into repair work on other medical equipment such as ECGs, blood pressure monitors, and even gym equipment. However, it's important you are comfortable with the testing and calibration side of the role from the outset, as that is where the current need lies.

Key duties include:

  • Testing and calibrating scales on-site to ensure compliance and accuracy

  • Recording and reporting results using provided tools

  • Travelling throughout the region with a company vehicle

  • Handling and transporting calibration weights (up to 150kg - trolley provided)

  • Working to daily KPIs and maintaining high-quality standards

What's in it for you:

  • 28,500 starting salary with annual reviews

  • Company van, laptop, mobile phone, and credit card provided

  • Quarterly bonus of 250 and up to 1,000 Christmas bonus for hitting targets

  • Overnight stay allowance and all expenses covered

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Monday to Friday schedule with paid overtime available

  • Clear career path into more advanced technical roles (e.g., ECG, BP monitors)

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone early in their technical career, perhaps with a college qualification, apprenticeship, or junior field experience

  • Confident working independently and travelling to customer sites

  • Comfortable with manual handling and a physically active job

  • A reliable, proactive team player with strong communication skills

This role offers the chance to develop real-world technical experience in a supportive environment with long-term career potential.
