Payroll Officer | £18-21 per hour | Manchester

We are recruiting for an interim Payroll Officer to join a business based in south Manchester. 

As Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring all payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Day to day, your responsibilities will be:

  • Processing new starters and leavers, as well as responsibility for other HR administrative tasks
  • Managing both weekly and monthly payrolls, processing weekly and monthly timesheets ensuring accuracy of payments
  • Processing expense claims
  • Processing CSA, Attachment of Earnings
  • Managing all SSP, SPP, SAP etc
  • Producing reports for finance team
  • Completing payroll journals
  • Managing all pension administration and ensure payments are made accurately
  • Processing RTI and Auto Enrolment
  • Supporting with year end duties such as p60s
  • Working and supporting with continuous improvement initiatives as well as critical projects to add value to the payroll function

To be considered, you must have:

  • Experience working on large payrolls, both weekly and monthly, ideally across multiple sites
  • Ability to carry manual calculations
  • Current and up to date knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Strong payroll systems knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in an accurate manner in a fast paced environment
  • Good team work skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Relevant payroll qualifications are advantageous

As Payroll Officer, you will get:
