- Provide senior nursing leadership, supporting the Ward Manager and guiding the nursing team.
- Apply policies and statutory requirements within the ward and wider hospital framework.
- Assess and manage risk across the ward environment, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and support a defined group of staff, overseeing CPD, mandatory training, and appraisals.
- Act as a mentor and role model, encouraging a culture of learning, development, and innovation.
- Implement, monitor, and evaluate therapeutic interventions to support recovery and coping strategies.
- Contribute to effective Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) collaboration, ensuring holistic patient care.
- Lead shifts and provide clinical supervision to a designated nursing team.
- Take on lead responsibilities within the ward as agreed with the Ward Manager.
- Deputise for the Ward Manager when required, maintaining continuity of leadership.
- Extensive clinical experience in mental health nursing with proven leadership capabilities.
- Strong understanding of Mental Health Act legislation and statutory care requirements.
- Ability to assess, manage, and mitigate risks within a ward setting.
