Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Sales Director to join their team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to lead the sales function, drive growth strategies, and achieve significant financial targets within the business.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Sales function within the company.
  • Execute sales growth strategies to achieve company-wide financial targets agreed with the CEO.
  • Achieve personal sales targets agreed with the CEO.
  • Expand sales into new markets and regions.
  • Line manage and build good working relationships within the sales team.
  • Develop and mentor junior sales staff, offering structured advice and support.
  • Foster strong working relationships between the Sales and Engineering functions.
  • Provide key market information to the Engineering team to ensure product alignment with market requirements.
  • Oversee Sales team recruitment and create training programmes for new and existing employees.
  • Analyse market trends and results.


Key Measure of Success:

  • Meet and exceed agreed new sales order targets.
  • Build pipeline value year on year.


Skills, Competencies and Behaviours:

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate people.
  • Technical competence and the ability to communicate new concepts and solutions to customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to call, connect, and interact with potential customers.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Multitasking proficiency, ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.


Experience/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales role, ideally within the defence sensors industry.
  • Ability to obtain UK security clearance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
