Summary of the role's main purpose:
- This role reports to the Head of Payroll in day-to-day managerial responsibility across the Group Salaries Team, ensuring that the highest level of customer service is provided to both internal and external customers
- To ensure full governance is always in place and compliance with statutory requirements
- The role will be to work in close connection with the Assistant Payroll Manager and the Senior Payroll Analyst on a day-to-day basis making sure there is a smooth running of the payrolls under the team's remit
Key Responsibilities:
- Line management responsibility for the complete team
- Overseeing all People Management including weekly 121 meetings and bi-annual PDR completion and documentation
- Maintaining relationships with service providers FMP/IRIS and Activ
- Maintaining the bureau payroll relationship
- Acting as the escalation point for payroll-related processes and liaising with HR for issue resolution
- Ensuring tax compliance with the Group Tax Manager
- Overseeing the collation of all workload and task rota of team on day-to-day processing with the assistance from the Assistant Payroll Manager
- Carrying out training assessment requirements needed for the Team and making sure this is executed
- Overseeing the Tax compliance reporting across all payrolls in house and bureau including Payrolling Benefits in Kind and P11D reporting
- Final responsibility for all checking and control process within the team
- Performing final month end checking and exception controls across all payrolls
- Monitoring and clearing shared mailbox inquiries and handling sensitive data requests.
- In conjunction with the Assistant Manager updating payroll process documentation and implementing new procedures
- Assisting in audit preparation & testing sample checks
- Controlling of Reporting for all Internal & External stakeholders
- Assisting with new payroll onboarding.
- Responsible for all managing of recruitment and onboarding
- Supporting the onboarding of a new HRIS payroll system, including testing, parallel processing, and go-live phases.
- To support with payroll ad-hoc projects.
- The role will be expected to assist the Finance Service Director to cover for the Head of Payroll when necessary.
