This role is crucial in supporting managers and the wider organisation on all types of employment matters and HR projects. This role will commence late July / August 2025 for nine months with a possible view to extend for a further three months.

Job Purpose:

  • Provide HR advice across a range of issues including employment law, recruitment, and HR administration.
  • Support the HR team with matters.
  • Engage in project development work, focusing on updating and developing new practices, policies, processes, and systems.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with GDPR, employment law, and other regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional HR qualification (e.g., CIPD Level 5 or degree in Human Resource Management).
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience in a generalist HR role, providing advice on a wide range of employment matters.
  • Ability to handle recruitment at an advisory level and provide comprehensive policy advice.
  • Experience working in a small, high-functioning HR team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and flexibility to travel within the diocese as needed.
