Payroll Administrator

We are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator on behalf of our client. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic team, where the successful candidate will manage the payroll process for both PAYE employees and CIS Subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This position is ideal for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to upholding high payroll management standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Full responsibility for the end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 400 weekly and 30 monthly employees and subcontractors.
  • Accurately and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for both PAYE and CIS workers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Verification of subcontractor status and handling CIS deductions and submissions to HMRC.
  • Management of timesheets, hours, and site attendance records.
  • Maintenance and updating of payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Reconciliation of all deductions to HMRC and making payments.
  • Preparation of payroll data reports for management.
  • Response to payroll-related queries from employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation, including handling pension contributions, tax codes, and statutory deductions.
  • Support for year-end processes including P60's and P11D's.
  • Conducting Right To Work checks and assisting with payroll and CIS due diligence.
  • Assistance with HR administration and other Accounts Department tasks as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within the Construction Industry.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and familiarity with payroll systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and all other statutory payments.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and analyse financial information effectively.
