GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a well-respected and highly successful law firm located in Cheltenham. We are currently supporting their recruitment for a Legal Secretary/Paralegal to join their busy Residential Conveyancing team on a full time, permanent basis.

Our client is a law firm that has built a reputation around providing outstanding legal advice and exceptional service to regional, national and international private clients.

This is a full time, permanent position, Monday - Friday, 09:00am - 17:30pm offering a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 pending relevant experience.

As a Legal Secretary you will be supporting a senior conveyancing lawyer, assisting with their dynamic and varied workload that encompasses a range of administrative and legal duties pertaining to Residential Conveyancing. As one of Gloucestershire's premier law firms, our client is committed to investing in personal and professional growth, offering continuous training to foster career advancement.

The high case volume the fee earner handles will provide the successful candidate with responsibility and pressure, so it’s important to find the right person who has a good depth of conveyancing knowledge.

The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced Legal Secretary with strong conveyancing experience with excellent typing speeds and accuracy who is able to provide excellent administrative support to a busy department.

Legal Secretary main duties:

  • Actively assist the senior conveyancing lawyer in progressing matters from initiation to completion.
  • Play a key role in liaising with clients, estate agents, and other stakeholders in property transactions.
  • Ensure matter files remain current and updated.
  • Interpret and draft legal correspondences and forms as required during transactions.
  • Oversee the completion of all related administrative tasks.

Legal Secretary desired skills and experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience supporting property fee earners, ideally within residential conveyancing
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Familiar with case management systems.
  • Self-starter and uses own initiative.
  • Understanding of the conveyancing process.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
