Long-term Teachers are working closely with a brilliant Special school in the Cheltenham area. They are looking for a Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant to join the school immediately in providing support to students with a wide range of special needs & disabilities.

Having placed a number of full-time staff at this school over the last few years I can confidently say that this school are an incredibly supportive environment to work in. The school look after a wide range of special needs & disabilities including ASD, ADHD, SLD, PMLD, MLD, SEMH & other complex needs.

The Role

This role is ideally for someone looking for a full-time/long-term position as consistency for the students is very important. Due to the needs of the students it is imperative that you have had experience working with special needs & disabilities, ideally in a school setting.

There are a few opportunities at the school so you will be placed according to best fit - they look after students aged 4-19. The role revolves around providing general classroom support as well as specific 1-1 support inside and outside of the classroom.

You will be expected to:

  • Be adaptable and flexible around the needs of the pupils.
  • Have experience of working with special needs.
  • Feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Be enthusiastic, positive and proactive.
  • Enjoy working as part of a tight knit team.
