A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cheltenham is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to support children with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs (SEND) in a nurturing, positive environment.
You'll work across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, helping pupils manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and re-engage with their learning.
Academics Ltd is looking for a caring, proactive individual with either experience or a strong interest in supporting children with behavioural or emotional needs. You'll provide both 1:1 and small group support, collaborating closely with teachers and the wider school team to encourage positive behaviour and emotional growth.

- Hours: Full-time, term-time only (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with behavioural and SEND needs, helping them regulate emotions and participate fully in class.
- Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support with de-escalation and proactive management of challenging behaviour.
- Work alongside the SENCO, teaching staff, and parents to create and review individualised support plans.
- Promote wellbeing and safety during lessons, breaktimes, and school activities.
