Payroll & Benefits Manager

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in managing and delivering the UK payroll for approximately 200 employees using the IRIS Cascade integrated HR & Payroll system. You will play a key role in enhancing payroll processes and employee benefits programs, supporting our ambitious growth plans.

Day-to-day duties - Payroll & Benefits Manager
  • Full end-to-end processing of our monthly in-house payroll for circa 200 employees.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to collect accurate payroll data and process this into the payroll system.
  • Manage disbursements such as HMRC liabilities and court orders.
  • Ensure all payroll changes are fully authorised and actioned in collaboration with the HR Advisor.
  • Provide accurate and timely management information on all aspects of payroll and liaise closely with key stakeholders.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees in a confidential manner.
  • Manage all family-friendly leave calculations and ensure accurate recording on IRIS Cascade.
  • Undertake year-end procedures including preparation and distribution of relevant payroll reports.
  • Manage the pension auto-enrolment compliance and communicate regularly with employees about their contribution options.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in payroll and benefits, with proven expertise in managing UK payroll and ensuring compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, preferably IRIS Cascade.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax rules and pensions obligations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets, including using VLOOKUP functions and pivot tables.
  • A strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and a focus on improving and automating processes.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
