Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a dynamic business based near Chester, to recruit a qualified accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly ambitious individual looking to progress within a fast-paced environment.The role is ideal for an ACA qualified Accountant looking to move into industry or a second time mover seeking a progressive managerial role. The business offers strong career development prospects, a supportive leadership team, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to ongoing growth and transformation. Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reporting packs, including detailed analysis and commentary on the Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Monitor and report on capital expenditure, ensuring adherence to budgets and control frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, procedures, and internal controls, including the maintenance and documentation of internal control frameworks.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and timely resolution of Balance Sheet reconciliation.
  • Prepare consolidated Group and individual statutory financial statements, alongside drafting of related materials including press releases, investor presentations, the Annual Report, and Audit Committee documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing all aspects of the half-year and year-end audit process.
  • Monitor developments in accounting standards, preparing technical position papers to support proposed accounting treatments.
  • Maintain and enhance detailed short- and long-term cash flow forecasts, aligned with quarterly reforecasting processes.
  • Report on cash positions, recommend and implement mitigating actions, and oversee loan drawdowns, repayments, and compliance with banking covenants.
  • Prepare and review corporate and deferred tax calculations for inclusion in statutory accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of corporate tax and VAT filings and payments.
  • Strengthen internal tax capabilities by developing training materials and conducting in-house training sessions.

Skills Required:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
