Shift Engineer

Deeside | £50,500 per annum | 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off – 12-hour shifts (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Shift Engineer to join a busy and well-established food manufacturing site in Deeside. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring all production machinery runs efficiently, with a balance of planned and reactive maintenance.

This position would suit a multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in keeping production moving.

The Role:
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of production machinery

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help drive equipment reliability

  • Work efficiently to prioritise breakdowns and maintain minimal downtime

  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed safely and in line with hygiene standards

Machinery includes:
Bag filling and vacuum sealers, chillers and conclaves, weighing and detection systems, conveyors, printers, and handling equipment.

About You:
  • Time-served, Level 3-qualified engineer (electrical bias preferred)

  • Proven experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or FMCG environment

  • Confident working across mechanical and electrical systems (bearings, belts, chains, control panels, motors, sensors, etc.)

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to “hit the ground running”

  • Strong teamwork skills with a focus on quality and reliability
