Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Dynamic Lessons: Plan and deliver stimulating PE lessons that encourage participation and skill development.
  • Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Classroom & Behaviour Management: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and disciplined environment for physical activity.
  • Adapt Instruction: Differentiate lessons to accommodate students with SEN, EAL, and varying physical abilities.
  • Collaboration: Work with colleagues to organise extracurricular sports, competitions, and health initiatives.
  • Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Ensure student safety during practical activities and promote wellbeing.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices and developments in physical education.

Key Skills & Qualities:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of physical education techniques, sports coaching, and health education.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all fitness levels.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Patience, energy, and a positive attitude towards student development.
  • Effective behaviour management skills in a practical learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching PE in line with the UK national curriculum.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).

Desirable:

  • Experience coaching or leading school sports teams.
  • Knowledge of health and fitness programmes and injury prevention.
  • Experience organising inter-school competitions or sports days.
