You will work alongside a supportive team to deliver high-quality English education, ensuring all students are equipped to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and teach well-structured, inspiring English lessons for diverse learners.
  • Assessment & Progress Tracking: Use varied assessment strategies to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment.
  • Differentiation: Tailor teaching to support SEN, EAL, and high-achieving students.
  • Collaboration: Share resources and best practices with fellow staff.
  • Safeguarding: Promote and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
  • Professional Development: Participate in CPD to remain current in curriculum and pedagogy.

Key Skills & Qualities:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and a passion for literacy and literature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to meet a wide range of student needs.
  • Effective behaviour and classroom management techniques.
  • Empathy and patience, especially when working with students requiring additional support.

Essential Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English in line with the national curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable:

  • Experience with SEN students.
  • Commitment to inclusive education.
