Your new roleIn this busy and varied role, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations and play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making. You'll lead month-end processes, manage reporting, and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis)
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Overseeing transactional finance, including the sales ledger, purchase ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Managing and supporting a small team responsible for sales and purchase ledger functions
- Full ownership of the purchase ledger process, including invoice processing, payments, and supplier reconciliations
- Supporting month-end duties such as prepayments, accruals, and journal postings
- Collating and preparing timesheet data for payroll
- Processing bank payments and performing regular bank reconciliations
- Submitting statutory returns (e.g., VAT) and liaising with group companies to agree intercompany balances
- Supporting year-end audit and liaising with external auditors
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified, newly qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), QBE
- Experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment (desirable)
- Strong understanding of management accounts and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work across departments
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel
