Contract Opportunity: Senior EC&I Engineer
Location: North West (Hybrid - minimum 2 days per week in the office)
Contract Length: 12 months (with strong likelihood of extension)
Rate: 50 per hour (Outside IR35)
Hours: 4-day week (Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days)

We're seeking an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex, safety-critical projects within the UK nuclear sector. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, high-integrity engineering solutions as part of a collaborative and technically strong team.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality EC&I designs and documentation in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.

  • Produce and review design deliverables, including schematics, wiring diagrams, functional design specifications, and test documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with nuclear, safety, and industry standards, maintaining traceability and design integrity throughout the lifecycle.

  • Contribute to and lead technical reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments.

  • Provide technical support to internal teams, suppliers, and clients, ensuring robust and compliant solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers to drive technical excellence across projects.



Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in EC&I engineering within the nuclear or other highly regulated industries.

  • Project experience with AWE, Sellafield, or similar regulated environments is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of control systems, electrical design, instrumentation, and functional safety principles.

  • Familiar with relevant standards such as BS EN 61508 / 61511 or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Live Security Clearance (SC) is highly advantageous.
