We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to join the team based in Cirencester. You will provide universal provision to children and families based in the children and family centres and in the community.
This role is essential in providing assistance and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to the resources and support needed to thrive. You will work closely with children and their families, fostering positive relationships and promoting well-being within the community.
You will need to have your own transport as sometimes you will be required to cover the other location in stonehouse. You will receive fuel expenses for this.
Duties as a Community Support Officer Worker
- Provide direct support to families in need, addressing their specific challenges and circumstances.
- Deliver universal, open-access services such as Stay & Play, Drop-in Sessions, community cafe at centres and community venues.
- Organise and lead workshops or group sessions aimed at enhancing parenting skills and family dynamics.
- Monitor progress and provide ongoing support, adjusting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain accurate records and progress for reporting purposes.
Experience required as a Community Support Worker
- Previous experience working with children is essential for this role. You background could be working in an Early Years setting, a teaching assistant or a youth worker, looking to take the next step.
- A qualification in childcare/child development, health & social care to NVQ Level 3 would be desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effective collaboration with families and other professionals.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
