Electrical Engineer – £45,000 to £50,000

Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 5:00pm | Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 + Excellent Benefits (11% pension, healthcare, generous holiday allowance)

The Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join a well-established engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems, diagnosing faults, and ensuring plant reliability. You’ll be working as part of a team of engineers, while also taking initiative to work independently when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems and equipment

  • React promptly and effectively to plant breakdowns

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, providing practical solutions

  • Install, maintain and repair 3-phase motors, PLCs, VFDs, and associated equipment

  • Replace faulty electrical components, wiring, and systems

  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, health & safety, and engineering standards

  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and update work orders/equipment records

  • Support continuous improvement projects to enhance system efficiency and reliability

  • Participate in the call-out system as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Fully qualified Electrical Engineer/Technician (17th/18th Edition preferred)

  • Strong experience with PLC systems, drives, motors, and control systems

  • Background in manufacturing, heavy industry, or forces considered

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a close-knit engineering team

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
