Role - Rail Operative

Pay - 17.62 per hour (overtime paid after 48hrs)

Shift pattern- Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 6.45pm (48hrs but flexibility is required - you finish when you finish the job, could end earlier than 6.45pm, could be later)

Duration- Temp- perm - (This is a permanent opportunity for the right person once you have completed the training which can take 8-12 months)

Start date - ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of the loco
  • Signalling and control: Operating and monitoring signalling systems to control loco movements and ensuring all traffic follows the correct schedules and safety regulations.
  • Loading & unloading wagons
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free
  • Deal with all daily issues professionally and liaise with site management on a regular basis
  • To contribute the effective and efficient operation of all rail operations

Experience needed:

Essential:

  • Driving licence essential
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Reliable and willing to learn
  • Flexibility around the shift pattern

Desirable:

  • Previous rail experience is preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience driving mobile plant machinery desirable
  • Previous experience driving a train, tram, loco or shunting desirable
  • Previous experience within a quarry industry
