Sales & Technical Support Engineer

** £26,000 - £28,000 ** Pension ** 24 days per annum ** Free Car Parking

This role is responsible for providing technical support and advice to customers and internal staff. Following training, the successful applicant shall gain an in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, how they operate, how they are applied and maintained.

Job Specifications:

  • Travel to sites to advise on installation or to assist Sales with equipment selection.
  • Provide onsite technical assistance and support to our installation and service teams.
  • Identifying opportunities for new equipment and planned maintenance.
  • Recording the initial enquiry and provide technical support to customers
  • Liaise with manufacturers to provide technical support to customers and Field Engineers
  • Go to manufacturers for technical training
  • Preparing and issuing quotations in a prompt, accurate and timely manner
  • Following up quotations and responding to queries for new equipment.
  • Become the technical resource for the sales team in the selection of sensors, water treatment and other accessory items
  • Updating customer account details on Sage in response to approved credit accounts
  • Attend trade shows where the company is exhibiting to work the trade stand
  • Create marketing case studies and reference projects with the marketing team
  • Contact potential customers to promote solutions and products
  • Work to achieve a sales target and to increase company sales
  • Regularly meet with the Sales Manager to review sales and projects working on
  • Maintain and develop customer long term relationships
  • Identify and develop all commercial opportunities for both equipment, planned maintenance and spare parts

Person Specification:

  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and Sage
  • Apply your knowledge and experience to unfamiliar technical or operational situations and deliver practicable, workable, and effective solutions.
  • Provide cover for other members of staff during holidays and absences.
  • Be capable of problem solving both technically and operationally to meet the needs of the business.
  • Promote our products and services over the phone and on-site during service visits.
  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing.
