Music Teacher (Performance & Composition Specialist) - Full-Time, Permanent

Our incredible independent school in Colchester, Essex, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator for a full-time, permanent Music Teacher role, commencing September 2025. We seek someone who can inspire our talented students across Key Stage 3 to A-Level, pushing the boundaries of their musical expression and technical proficiency.

What Your Role Will Entail:

You will deliver inspirational Music lessons, with a strong focus on practical performance, advanced composition techniques, and sophisticated musical analysis, particularly at GCSE and A-Level.
You will provide bespoke guidance to our most able musicians, preparing them for high-level examinations, auditions, and university/conservatoire applications.
You will lead and develop specific musical ensembles or compositional projects, contributing to our rich and varied co-curricular programme.
You will integrate cutting-edge music technology into your teaching, supporting students in contemporary music creation and production.
You will assess student work rigorously, offering detailed and actionable feedback that fosters rapid progress and deep understanding.

We're Looking For:

You will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
You will possess a strong degree in Music, with demonstrable expertise in performance and/or composition.
You will have extensive experience teaching Music across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
You will be an outstanding musician and educator, with the ability to inspire a diverse range of musical talents.
You will have excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to collaborative working.
