We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join our prestigious school in Colchester. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Deliver high-quality lessons in Maths that support the development of students' knowledge and understanding.
  • Curriculum Provision: Support subject leaders in ensuring high-quality lesson plans and schemes of work that engage and enrich students' learning.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Report on internal and external assessments to help determine students' progress and attainment.
  • Pastoral Care: Work with the Head of Character Development and Wellbeing to support and deliver high-quality pastoral care to students.
  • Whole School Support: Contribute to faculty and whole school development priorities, including supervision duties as per the school rota.

Key Duties:

  • Develop and implement schemes of work and resources for Maths.
  • Participate actively in the school's co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes.
  • Deliver engaging and effective Maths lessons.
  • Support subject leaders in creating engaging lesson plans.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and attainment.

Professional Development:

  • Attend and engage with continuous professional development sessions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to support the development of high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Stay updated with the latest educational practices and methodologies.
  • Participate in self-evaluation and improvement initiatives.
  • Commit to personal and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • A good university degree.
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • PGCE or equivalent.
  • Experience as an exemplary classroom practitioner.
  • Awareness of curriculum issues related to Maths.

  • Willingness to play a full part in a busy independent day school.
  • Good classroom management and flexibility.
  • Well-organized, creative, and innovative.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office.
